Meditation Resources

For those of you who would like to start a meditation practice or are interested in some of the practices out there, I thought I’d tell you a little about some of the great products I’ve come across.  Click on the Headings to go straight to the website where you can find out more details.

Holosync

I began using Holosync two years ago and I really like it.  You begin with the “Dive” which is half an hour, and then add the “Immersion” track, so your meditation practice is one hour long.  The sounds are of rain falling, gongs and waves crashing.  There are additional tracks available, and after you have spent a few months on the first set of discs you move up to the next level.  I enjoy listening to the tracks, but ideally you need an hour minimum daily to progress your practice, and it’s quite expensive.

Blissitations

I started using these meditations from the team at “entheos” last year when I was following Alexandra Johnsons, Rock Your Goddess Life program.  Her program was amazing and as part of the supporting documents and files I received a number of these meditations.   They are 15 minutes long and very competitively priced.  There is a range to pick from, so you pick the ones most suitable for your purpose.

Vortex Meditations

I started using these meditations as I progressed in my Law of Attraction studies.  The book is very inexpensive, each meditation is only 15 minutes, and there is a real focus on your breathing, while listening to Esther Hicks voice.  There are 4 meditations and I chose a different one each day.

21 Day Challenge –Chopra Centre

I’ve only recently come across these meditations.  It’s great to join a challenge if you want to make meditation a daily practice.  Knowing that others are doing the same meditation as you and that there is a community of people to talk to if you wish, is very supportive.  The meditations have some beautiful music, with a very soothing voice talking you through some big questions to meditate on.  These are quite different from what I’ve tried in the past, and I’m really enjoying them.

Om harmonics

This is another recent meditation product which has been released by the great team at Mind Valley.   They have designed 5 different tracks each suitable for a different time of the day, waking up, focusing, relaxing after your day, going to sleep, and each is available in 15 and 30 minute tracks.  I’ve only just started using these, and they are pleasant to listen to.

This is just a small selection of the products that are available.  I encourage you to take a look at one that grabs your attention.  But meditation is a very personal thing, it doesn’t matter which method you choose, just find something that you enjoy and you’re more likely to stick with it.

I’ve written another blog about meditation.

Happy meditating.

I’m currently participating in the 21 day challenge and it’s really helped me to get into the daily habit of meditation. I’ve always wanted to try Holosync and I’m interested in hearing about you experience with it Maxine, care to share?

Hi Amanda,

I’m glad that you’re also enjoying the 21 day challenge.

With holosync the downside is that it is a significant investment in terms of cost and time.

However, for me, the main thing is I enjoy it. I love the sounds that they have used, I’ve always loved the sound of rain falling and waves crashing. So I have never got too hung up about “is it working?”, because I just love the “doing” of it. I don’t get so hung up about the small things anymore, I am calmer, and quite often I get my best ideas while I’m meditating, like what blog to write today.

They offer a free trial cd, so my suggestion would be if you like the sound of it, request the free disc. If after you’ve tried it, you can see yourself wanting to make the time to sit and listen daily, then try the first “Awakening Prologue” level.

I’d be interested to hear how you get on.

Thanks for the feedback Maxine, I’ll certainly give it a try! you’re certainly right about getting best ideas whilst meditating, i get that too. So much so, that I know always have a pen and paper handy as my creative juices start flowing soon after:)

I love the Vortex Meditations – I use them everyday and sometimes fall asleep to them in the evenings.

Hi Maxine,
Great suggestions! I’ve done Holosync, but you even have to devote 1 1/2 hours on the second level. As much as I love the rain and waves and gongs, it’s just too much time for me. Although very enjoyable. I love the Vortex meditations, I visit them now and then. I’ve heard good things about Om harmonics, but have not tried it as well as the 21 Day Challenge. Will probably check into those at some time. For the moment I am LOVING the Awakening your Light Body Course by Christy Whitman. You might like that one next time it comes around.

Loving your posts,
Linda

An update on the Om harmonics. I’m quite enjoying them. I do the Awakening meditation in the morning when I wake up for half an hour. Then in the evening I do the Deep Rest meditation for half an hour. I also tried out the focus track the other day just before I started reading a book.
I still consider the Holosync the meditation product I tend to go back to.
So many meditations to choose from, isn’t life great?
